Late to Class
My group decided to do what to do when you are late to class. We came up with incorporating many different aspects of how to develop this video to be realistic. We went through many ideas from each other, but we really didn't want to make there be a lot of walking, which was a challenge. For our beginning ideas, we had many different concepts everyone thought we should do. We first came up with go-zones, but some other group grabbed it first so we had to think of another one. Then we decided to do Power50, waiting in line to tell the teacher what we wanted to do, the group in-front of us said Power50. Finally we decided late to class, we rushed up and told the teacher what we wanted and we got it! The next step in the process of creating a procedures video was to storyboard your idea of what would be happening in the video including all of the shots, type of shots, what the person would be doing, and so on. We started out with him walking to class and the bell ringing and him going straight to the attendance window. After we finished up all of the shots in each box, we re-looked through it and noticed there was a lot of walking we needed to cut out. My group cut out a lot of walking then and only had the shots that was necessary for our video.
There were four roles and four people in our group, director, actor, camera man, and kinda a helper for the director. I was the director for this video production, but all of us really took turns being the director and contributed good feed back for the video. Our groups schedule was a good set up, we filmed the first day and got everything we needed. The teacher gave every group at least 2-3 days to film and we finished on day 1. On day 2 we decided to get another role of the whole video just to have two different references we could use. On day 3 we all started to edit for a 30 second video, it was challenging at first but with Ms. Zimmerli's help, I got through it. I had to fit the music right and have a bell sound. I probably watched my video at least 20 different times if not more just to make sure it was good. Along the way, I learned that its okay to ask questions and don't be afraid. Also express your idea you have, even if it gets turned down, hey at least it was an idea if nobody else had one. We didn't really have a technical problem with the software of hardware at any time which was really good.
I would have edited my video differently because I could have portrayed the story way better. I should have at the end shown more of him giving the pass to the teacher instead of just him ending in the library because it didn't make sense why he was in the library if he was going to class. I would have still done the same process for story boarding and brainstorming because that was a really good process that we did. I would also have done two different runs for the video if you have extra time because its helpful to have different and more clips than less. I will make sure that we all our on the same page and not disagreeing on something so we all are good for our video. I also would say that overall our group and product of video's turned out really good and way better than I expected.
